Rotterdam, February 28, 2005 - AND has signed an agreement with TomTom for the delivery of digital road maps for personal navigation. The contract involves data for the Central and Eastern European regions (including Turkey), which TomTom plans to integrate into its car navigation systems, such as the TomTom GO. AND strives to become a leading player in this market in addition to the in-car navigation market, in which AND recently entered into a long-term contract with Siemens VDO.
Seeing that AND is currently the only company with navigable road maps that offer sufficient coverage in these regions, the company can easily position itself as a major player in these rapidly growing markets. In order to optimally profit from burgeoning market opportunities, as part of their collaboration AND and TomTom have agreed to make collective marketing and sales efforts for these products.
One of the initial concrete results of these efforts will be the presentation of the products by market leader TomTom at the CeBIT in Hannover from 10-16 March. The expected sales and new contracts should contribute to the acceleration of turnover and profit growth predicted earlier by AND.
